A memorable place or memorable experience

Life is a conscious contact with our surroundings. The more conscious we are about our surroundings, the more alive we are. Indeed life is full of contacts and meetings. It is full of beauties for the seeing eyes and the understanding mind. Man is crown of the creation and nature is beautiful because of man. We come into contact with different kind of persons, low and high. We rub our shoulders with the strangers in the streets and busy places. They become a part of our memories.

An inspirational person can increase ones power and capability to achieve everything in life without making them look impossible. There are many people that have inspired me but not till that extent as my grandfather did. As I was growing up, he used to tell me incidents related to his life almost everyday which would influence me a lot and I always seek lessons through his own history.

My grandfather was born in 1940; he was a descendent of a poor family and a young boy with great ambitions. His dreams came to an end on a tragic day when his father died when he was only fifteen years old. At this age a teenager thinks of having fun with friends and enjoying life but this incident gave him a whole new look of life. His father passed away leaving nothing but sorrows. Being the eldest of the family after his mother, it was now his responsibility to overcome all the needs and requirements.

At the age of fifteen my grandfather started doing part time job in a restaurant as a server. He worked so hard day and night in order to earn money for paying the bills, school fees and to buy house hold goods. He never gave off his studies and carried on with his job too simultaneously. He was so passionate about all the work that he does and also assures me that if you would strain for excellence in whatever you do, successes will follow you. After working for two to three years as a waiter he was promoted from his job and began to handle the accounts of the same restaurant because his qualifications increased. As a matter of fact, if he would not have continued his studies there was no chance for him to get this job. He confronted many difficulties in his teenage and as the time passed he became more mature. After all the hardship that my grandfather faced he attained a lot of things because of which he now earns his own business starting from a waiter in a restaurant.

I am very influenced by his story because of his hard work and determination to succeed in life. Comparatively from a very small age my grandfather began to earn instead of begging. Even in the time of sorrows and regret he never lost his hope. Due to his hard work and positive outlook of life he conquered every difficulty that came in his way. He struggled through his whole life and promised himself that he would never let his family down. He proved that a person with a positive manner in life get more success and happiness than a person with a negative manner. Above all he never left his studies which are a gratitude for him because of which he possesses a business and we are living a life of luxury and comfort. Being a teenager he gained a lot of success in a very short span of time which is very admirable. One could learn from his experience that passion, interest, determination, devotion and positive manner can make you excel in life.
