From the statistics, it is obvious that Turkey is not in the five countries which produce most in Europe, whether in consumption statistics we found Turkey in the second place with 3760 ton/year, the leader in LPG consumption is again England with 4028ton/year, third country is Italy with 3540 ton/year, followed by France 3505 ton/year and Germany 2651 ton/year.

As the statistics imply, LPG market has a rapidly growing trend in Europe. Therefore Aygaz should establish a strategy in order to take a market share in Europe. The company structure and assets are well fitted to have a market share in Europe. However it requires a long-term planning and a long-term effort to take a big share in a market big as Europe. To do so, expanding strategy of the company should be carefully planned.

Recent market analysis shows that Koç Group has a strong market share in Turkey. But, some points need further improvement for the company’s future plans. These improvements could be shown as follows:

  • To be able to reach company’s four pillars which are fairness, responsibility, transparency and accountability. For the sake of being fair and responsible Koç Holding should publish its operations analysis on a more frequent basis.
  • For the sake of transparency, Aygaz should provide more information to its investors and shareholders.
  • To be accountable, it will be more suitable to have more than one independent auditing firm for the company, which Koç Group currently has only one for all its sectors. For the sake of achieving these four pillars of the company, Koç Groups energy sector should have more than one independent auditing and consulting firms in it.
  • Aygaz has a pricing strategy as following: they sell their products at the industry prices and make more profit, on contrast to that they could sell below the industry average and thus they could increase their market share. But they do not use that strategy because it could damage the service quality of the company. For these reasons a better advice should be improving the logistics and increasing the number of dealers in Turkey, since the products have easily-findable substitutes and do not have much chance of differentiating the product.
