The structure of an organization will determine the manner in which it operates and it’s performance. Structure allows the responsibilities for different functions and processes to be clearly allocated to different departments and employees.
The wrong organization structure will obstruct the success of the business. Organizational structures should aim to maximize the efficiency and success of the Organization. An effective organizational structure will facilitate working relationships between various sections of the organization. It will retain order and command whilst promoting flexibility and creativity.

Scientific management principles (Fredrick Taylor)
The management theory of Taylor helps to improve the efficiency through observation and improvements. When we analyze both companies it seems Dhiraagu highly practices all the scientific management principles of Taylor. Wataniya Maldives also practices these principles, but not as much as Dhiraagu do.
Observation and record keeping of work
Dhiraagu observe and keep the records of all its activities. Through these records management of Dhiraagu analyze the performances of its employees and take actions in order to improve. Observation and record keepings are done by the managers of dhiraagu. Further, Wataniya Maldives also keep the records of its activities.
Selection of best method of doing work
Both organizations follow this strictly, as it might improve the productivity of its employees and it also might improve the performance of the business. The managers of both organization studies the existing method of doing works and find out the easy way of doing works. And then they inform it to their subordinates and after that they document it and keep is such a way that the employees easily can refer it. This surely will increase the motivation and productivity of employees.
Performance related pay
Taylor believes that through this employee will be highly motivated, as most of employees are motivated by salaries and other financial benefits. The employees of both companies are being highly paid and there are further financial and non financial benefits according to the performance of the employees. However, salaries and other benefits are less in Wataniya Maldives compared to Dhiraagu.
Job simplification
Under this the management of both organizations tries to make jobs simple for its employees as much as possible. It is been said that Taylor was trying to promote division of labor in his theory. However, both Dhiraagu and Wataniya Maldives do not encourage division of labor in the organization.
Bureaucracy by Max Webber (1864-1920)
An observation done by Max Webber in his time identified that most of them are managed by individuals in a very personal manner and could not exist without those individuals. Dhiraagu follows the principles of Max Webber strictly while Wataniya Maldives follows none of them. Dhiraagu follows strict rules, regulation and procedures, hierarchy and penalties. Further the organization has a policy which says every individual should receive instruction from one manager or supervisor.
