Private School Vs Public School Education Essay

What is the difference between Private school and Public school? A Private school is not run by the state or federal government. A Public school is funded and run by the government. Normally a private school charge tuition and don’t accept no funded from the government. Most public schools are run by the city board of education. Can we compare those together? There is a controversy in America about the education in private schools vs. public schools. There have been many differences between the values of a public school and a private school. Private schools argue that the education received in the facilities is more valuable than any other schools. The supporters of public schools feel that the students have a better-rounded, scholastically while in public schools. A public school has been exposed to difference types of diversity that have made them better for the real world.

Americans perceptions of public and private schools may be changing. Certainly, public school has been discredited in the past by rules and labors unions. The interests of children and parents are a violence and immorality. . Many people in today’s world believe that they should send their children to private schools. The decision on where their children should be in public or private schools, they look to four main sources to look at: curriculum, size, and cost. When people have to pay for something, their first thought is, “Will I be getting what I’m paying for?” With the private school, the amount they have to pay is usually worth it. As a Public schools offer difference. In public school students can find people who similar like them and associate with others. Parents usually send there child to the closest school. There is no choice on what public school parents send their child to, and for private schools are a choice that is chooses weather to send the child there.

It’s not an easy decision for parents to choice, but by many point of a good education would be achieved that is more important. In a recent report, it showed that six million students enrolled in a private school during the year 2003- 2004. That is a11.5% of all students enrolled in public schools. Many people think that student that is enrolled in a private tends to learn and perform better academically wise then the students in public schools. But the department of education think they both the same and that they perform both the same academicals achievement. Private schools focused more to educate children’s. A teacher in private schools earns more and is dedicated to work with parents who are equally dedicated to their children. The school is an investment into the child’s future and is not a decision that is made lightly. First things much of the difference between the two has to do with money situation. Public schools are charging tuition, or other fees such as: materials, textbook, and etc. They also have the same high performs on tests such as math, reading, science, and history. Private schools have a smaller student teacher ratio then public school because there is fewer students that attend private school then public.

Also another reason why people choose to put there children in private is because of that one on one help that there child can obtain with there teacher. Many public schools can be over loaded and can cost a problem with the student learn process. In a public school they offer more programs then any private school. They offer program such as sports, music, arts, and foreign language. On the other half a private school has to raise money and many fund-raisers to obtain the same activity as the public school. In the United States, education is offered from kindergarten to graduate school. Secondary education is twelve years of schooling which completion to a high school diploma. An educational system is a decision making organization.

Three levels of government – local, state, and federal in which it support elementary and secondary education. It is divided into public and private schools by the quality of education received by the students. Now private school offer sports that are engaged outside the school zone. Both schools give parents the opportunity to get involved in the different type of the school programs. At a private school a parent is given a certain time to be active at the school. Through a private school can cost a lot, there is vouchers in which the families can take the tax dollar that would be directed toward a public school and use it as private school tuition. The private schools prevent the public schools from a total service over education by the community as a choice.

People think teachers at a private schools is more qualified then those at public school, it’s important that all teachers in a public school are state certified or, is working toward certification. The teacher has training skills that is required by the state, which includes student teaching and course work. Teachers in private schools are not required to have certification. They have an undergraduate or graduate degree in the subject they teach. There is similar curriculum in private and public schools. A public school has a guideline that set out specific standards procedures. The private school can choose what curriculum that suit them best. This is design to there own curriculum that

result in higher standards for students. Most private schools are 61 % and public schools are 71 % were post secondary. Another reason is attention to student with special needs. The law stated that it is mandatory that the public school must educate and meet to requirement of those students. At most public school they have teacher that is certified in

those area that can help those special students.

A private school has no requirement or curriculum programs that can help that student that are in need of the help. They do have more program such as student special class in which the student will take as a credit. Public schools are obligated by law and the state board to educate all children. So to enroll in a public school there is a simply registers in which you have to filling out the forms. A private school does not have an obligation that is set by the law. It is also stated that a private school is not required to provide any program to assist the students with special needs.

A private school has the power to kick out student for any disrupts behavior in the school. But a public school have different program that require student to attend in school suspensions or be place in alterative school until the end of the punishment period. The public school provides academic services under the government. They also provide free lunch and meal plans in a public school. The private school does not provide free lunch or participle in the federal government meal plans.

In conclusion it has been stated that a private and a public school has the same curriculum but different plans of requirement between the state and the local boards. It is also stated that the private require more to attend, then public school. For as a public school is funded and run by the government, and manage by the local city board.
