Statement of Purpose

Since my childhood, I have always fancied entrepreneurial and management issues. I grew admiring successful business people in the society and wished that one day I would climb that ladder to become an important business person in the society. I believe today that dream is becoming a reality owing to the steps I have taken in my education and now that I want to purse an MBA at Rollins University.

I was born in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. After finishing my high school, I went to Dubai in United Arab Emirates, where I worked as a customer relations specialist with a company called Creative 1973 from 2002 to 2004. I was then admitted in the University of Sharjah in the UAE and to pursue Management Information Systems and graduated in 2008. Immediately after my graduation, I went to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and I was employed as an Information Systems Specialist in the Saudi Arabian Airlines. At Saudi Arabian Airlines, I was working on a multimillion project with a Germany company called SAP and after working for six months, the management of Saudi Arabian Airlines were very impressed by my working skills and awarded me a scholarship to study MBA in the USA. This is a scholarship which is awarded through King Abdullah on a special agreement between Saudi Airlines and King Abdullah’s scholarship committee to send distinguished employees to pursue their higher education.

With the current move towards global economy and explosion of free trade, I believe given a chance to study my MBA degree will add to improve on my working relations and give me more exposure to people of different cultural diversities. It is this challenging situation to which I intend to contribute by developing meaningful and best solutions to various problems in information systems. I am a team player and I have a strong believe that given a chance to study MBA in Rollins College will add to improve on my knowledge base and social interaction at an international platform. I have over the past tried to attain the GMAT scores required for admission in Rollins College but I had been unsuccessful. I would request to be considered for a waiver to enable me study the MBA degree in your institution since there is no other student from Saudi Arabia enrolled in Rollins College. I am self motivated and with good leadership skills and I will be like an ambassador to my people and culture for Rollins College. If granted such a golden opportunity, I will become at the Rollins College ambassador in Saudi Arabia and market its vision and value to the people of Saudi Arabia.

My country requires more skilled innovators who can produce and start on new products and services that will help in the growth of the economy of Saudi Arabia at the fore front on the technological tide. Rollins College is the kind of University I am seeking to undertake my MBA program and I believe the university develops its learners to first class businessmen. I aim to develop and launch my own software company and the best way to achieve that goal is to get an MBA with an entrepreneurial focus as offered in Rollins College. I am specifically interested in studying with the top world businessmen and I also look forward to learning from other students with same entrepreneur ambition like mine. I believe my work experience at Creative 1973 and Saudi Arabian Airlines combined with the solid education I received at University of Sharjah will give me grounding to excel in your program.

In order for me to achieve my profession goals, I have to to learn a good deal about modern developments in Information System, program development, and financial applications and attain hands-on experience of software development. An MBA degree will offer me hypothetical understanding, a deeper idea of realistic approaches in assisting managerial administrative, and research skills to facilitate me to extend my proficiency in the core areas of information system development strategies. I would like to explore specific problem areas such as the information development in mobile phone application and enhance global communications on international trade. My main research interests would be on coming up software and information systems mobile phone user to access the global market.

I can focus my own profession shifting to the American business, initially from an advisory perspective and eventually from a directive role with a production entity a start-up venture. This foresight, along with my personal entrepreneur ambition and an affinity fro information systems will play a great part in the development of my career. An overall transformation has been observed to students who travel and study abroad in the way they do things and in their perspective and since I am no different, it will be a great experience to imagine how the first-hand advancement in economic development in USA will influence my future plans.

The overall advantages of attaining an MBA from Rollins University in USA will be an added advantage to my career. I believe a MBA program in Rollins College will offer the best opportunity and room for research and a collaborative learning environment flexibility in the curriculum and a dynamic and opportunity on global key issues. My quick learning coupled with strong analytical skills plus the experience I gained from Saudi Arabian Airlines have enabled me to develop good problem solving skills and this has improved my confidence. I aim to apply these abilities in Rollins College. I hope that the committee will consider my application.
