Summary Of The Twilight Book English Literature Essay

Twilight is a book that talks about a seventeen year-old girl, Bella Swan that lived with her mother Renee but soon she moved to live with her father, Chief Charlie Swan. When she gets to school in Forks High School she meet Doctor Cullen’s adopted children. But Bella gets confuse about what Edward Cullen is, and so she tell him theories of what he is, but she always gets them wrong, until her friend of La Push, Jacob, tell her some scary stories and that’s when Bella finds out what Edward is. And now Bella is in love with a vampire and this cause many problems between both of them.

First day of school for Bella wasn’t that difficult because she met some guys there, especially a guy name Mike that is always near her. In her Biology class she had to sit next to a handsome guy, Edward Cullen. But Edward was acting so weird next to Bella; he was sitting as far of her as possible and not even talking to her. Bella didn’t know what to do and she just tried to ignore him but she couldn’t forget how rude he acted in class. For the rest of the week, Edward didn’t show up to school, only his siblings. Bella was feeling more comfortable without him, until one day at the cafeteria she stood froze in shock when she saw that in the table of his siblings there were 5 persons, including Edward. She let it go, but then in her Biology class she saw that Edward was there. This time Edward was polite and talk to her. The rest of the days, they sat together at lunch and know each other more.

One Day at the parking lot Bella was walking to her car but then she heard a car going out of control and in less than a 3 seconds she was on the ground and Edward’s arms holding her. At the Emergency Room she met Doctor Cullen and she saw how alike he was to Edward, like all his siblings, golden-eyed, skin pale white and beautiful as well. That night she started thinking of what was Edward and how did he get to her so fast, when she was alone in the parking lot and he was all the way next to his car. The next day they were talking in the cafeteria and that’s when Edward told her that it should be safer if they shouldn’t be friends. But Bella kept asking him how did he do to save her, but he just keep telling her that he was next to her and that she doesn’t remember because she ”hit her head”. Bella didn’t believe him, she knew it was another thing, and she started looking for theories of what Edward is. One day in First Beach, La Push she went with her friends to pass the day. Bella was walking in the beach with Jacob Black, an old friend she met long time ago, and he told her some scary stories about Quileute legends and the legend about the Cullens.

One day, she went with Angela and Jessica to Port Angeles to buy some dresses for the Spring Dance. Bella decided to go to a bookstore and meet them in the restaurant later. But Bella got lost in the way and she was followed by some guys that didn’t look like thieves, they were something worst. But when the guys started calling her and pushing her, a silver Volvo came into view and Edward was getting out of it and telling Bella to come in. When they were both safe in the car, Edward was so mad and he wanted to kill those guys that tried to hurt Bella. They both went to a restaurant because Edward was insisting Bella to eat something and so she agreed. In the restaurant, Bella was asking him how he knew where she was. Edward accidently told her that he was reading people’s mind to find her, until he got to her. Edward started telling her that he can read minds, except hers. On the way back to Forks, they were talking about Bella’s final theory, which was that Edward was a vampire. So Edward didn’t care that much of what his family would to him for revealing what they are to a human, so he finally tell her everything about vampires, his family and Bella just acted normal, because she was feeling safe next to a vegetarian vampire. That night she knew that she was in love with him and she dream about him. The next day she went to a beautiful meadow with Edward, there she saw how Edward sparkles with the sun. The next day she went to meet Edward’s family: Carlisle, Esme, Alice, Jasper, Emmet and Rose. Alice can see visions about the future, so she saw that a thunderstorm was coming so they could play baseball. At the meadow where they were playing baseball, Bella saw how amazing they play. There’s always a boom every time they bat and they all where impossibly fast especially Edward. A few minutes later, Alice saw another vision of some nomad vampires that hear them playing and now they were going join the game. It was too late when Alice saw the vision, she told that to her family and they stop the game. Edward wanted to take Bella to a safe place because those vampires where not vegetarian. But it was too late; they only had 3 seconds when they saw three vampires coming from the trees. Carlisle had to welcome them but then a burst of wind made Bella’s hair move and 2 seconds later her scent was everywhere. James ,one of the nomad vampires , was about to attack her when Edward stand in front of her in a protective way and so Laurent and Victoria, the other nomads, told him to stop and leave. When they were gone, Edward heard what James was going to do which was killing Bella at all coasts. The Cullen separated to help Bella. Alice, Jasper and Bella had to move to a hotel in Phoenix to wait for the others. A few hours later Bella received a call from her mom , when she answer the phone she heard James voice telling her that if she wanted her mom to survived Bella needed to go to a Ballet Studio to meet him there. She did what he told him without Alice and Jasper knowing what she was doing. When she got to the studio she was hit by James and was bleeding. James was about to kill her , when Edward appeared and started fighting with him. Bella was bleeding so bad and screaming because James bit her. The others came for help and that’s when everything went black for Bella.

She woke up on the Emergency Room and she saw that Edward was with her. He told her that James was finally dead, and he needed to suck the venom out of her so she could be normal again. After that, Edward went with Bella to Prom and they dance in the moonlight.

I think this story is awesome and that’s why it became one of the best selling in New York Times and had won many awards, the books and the movies. This story can teach some things, like: ”what is forbidden is the richest”. Like falling in love with a vampire it’s amazing, because according to the book, a vampire is the one that can love you forever. That’s why this book has millions of fans, the majorities are girls, because most of the boys think its gay or they are just jealous because vampires are better than them. This breath-taking book had shaken the earth. I think that the plot is well done, so that’s why I enjoy reading it, and the sequel may be better.
