This year, President Barrack Obama has signed into law the health reform bill that lowers down health care costs for American people, families and small scale businesses. The legislation expands to cover millions of Americans, ends the bad practices of insurance companies and strengthens consumer health protection (Jennings 2).

I am positive about the healthcare reform legislation. I believe in equality and fairness of the bill. American people have struggled enough with a health insurance system for years that was unfair and opaque, confusing, and overwhelming to navigate. It is really alarming and horrible that so many Americans today have been uninsured for so long. This Bill has a goal of implementing the law to benefit everyone and be as transparent and clear as possible (Jennings 1).

In the past years, I have witnessed first hand insurance companies denied the coverage of testing for patients with known cardiac diseases because they consider it as a pre-existing condition. Presently, some insurance systems are not covering diagnostic tests on patients with cardiac or chest pain which is a pathognomonic symptom of heart illness. Many insurance companies have arguably more justification about this issue which is wrong and dangerous especially for the patient. This legislation will help people who primarily need health care coverage and eliminate the preexisting conditions by insurance companies. Unlike the former insurance standards, this provision maintains the employee’s health benefits and incentives until the exchange of their health insurance is fully operationa (Guterman, Davis and Stremikis 10-11).

Moreover, the new health reform legislation has lots of advantages and benefits. Health care reform bill will help take care of the country’s elderly population. It will aid health needs of families with low income. The new health care bill will also help working class Americans who could not afford or obtain their health care insurance. It will prevent the denial of coverage to adults and children who have medical issues in the past (Fronstin 4-6). American people will have the freedom to select and find different employment without the fear of losing their health insurance. People who are self-employed will be able to buy and afford health insurance. Woman will no longer be charged more than men for their insurance. The law also provides an opportunity for all hospital patients to have their own insurance. This will also ensure that hospitals and physicians get paid for the work they do without bringing the health care costs up. There are so many positive things in this health care reform legislation that will benefit every American with fairness and equality (Jennings 1).

This reform will also impact the future of retiree health benefits. Purchasing a good coverage with high value in the individual market is not a viable option for many in this group, either because they can’t afford the value or because they have a preexisting condition like diabetes or high blood pressure (Parente 1). Generally, I am very glad with the proposals’ provisions to have a mixed impact on health benefits of retirees. It would help shore up the retiree coverage early and Medicare coverage provided by the insurance company would become more valuable to all retirees (Fronstin 2-4). It will help millions of Americans ages 55 to 64 to secure their health care because this law will prohibit the employers who provide bad insurance coverage for these early retirees (Guterman, Davis and Stremikis 5). Thanks to the new health insurance reform Bill, help is on our way. Starting in about couple of months, a new form of retiree reinsurance program will definitely support for needed employer-based coverage for our retiree population.

On the contrary, there are many American people who show disagreement with the new Health care Reform Bill. Currently, people who do not support the health care reform bill argue that it will destroy the best system of health care in the world (Parente 3). Some say that the bill will turn the American medical care into Europe where people have to wait a long period of time just to get a treatment or a surgery and there will be a longer waits for medical care assistance (Fronstin 12-13). Given the complexity of our health care system, which comprises about one sixth of our national economy, it would be surprising if they didn’t (Guterman, Davis and Stremikis 5). And it didn’t really help that they were shocked and bombarded by nearly two hundred million dollars in advertisements over the last year, they agree that many of which were misleading intentionally. I believe, the law is not perfect but it is far better than what we have had in the past years. This law enacted by the government is really beneficial in taking heath care of all American citizens (Jennings 1).

This new health care reform can also benefit those people who do not have their insurance. It will assess the level of awareness and understanding the status of target population and intervention for them by utilizing several theories to obtain the optimum functioning and healthy lifestyle is one of the initial culprits of health care bill. In their activity prior to the analysis of every theory and concepts, it provides a healthy & safe environment to all the people and providing ways to improve insurance process through self-awareness. It will also improve physical well being and enhances independence will help client face reality and improve her mental, physical and emotional health (Guterman, Davis and Stremikis 10-11).

All population groups can benefit from this health care reform bill with the availability of health care facilities and management for them specifically nutritional resources are appropriate and timely. Especially groups that are more susceptible and usually suffer from altered nutrition more than/ less than body requirements and other medical related diagnosis. This group is very particular to the details with regards to nutritional and medical education as well as for the health maintenance and consciousness (Fronstin 12-13).

Adults with no health care insurance with pre-existing conditions can buy through high-risk national pool online. No matter how American government is good in educating their people about the advantage and benefits of health care bill, it won’t be much use unless they implement those policies effectively and responsibly.  Encouraging every individual to seek these health care resources towards self and others aids in achieving the best possible level of well being of every member of community and lastly promotes therapeutic relationships which is the foundation of therapeutic care management and earn the society cooperation and trust. As President Obama has always said, we need to get this right.
