Children initially perceived Barbie with wary. Men-critics immediately started talking about it as “a predatory woman,” “empty-headed girl.” And asserted that “mothers never will buy it for their children the dolls with breasts”, as Barbie was “too sexy” to sell it freely … In general, it mounted to the doll’s own unrealized fantasies.
